Employee of the Quarter: John McAlister

John McAlister joined The Beringer Group in 2010 after first meeting John Fye and Ted Beiringer at a conference in Rhode Island in 2005. He earned his degree in Marketing with a minor in Finance from the University of Georgia.

For John, the best part of working at TBG is the camaraderie. He enjoys working on client cases with his colleagues and appreciates that everyone has their own area of expertise. In his view, every person has an important part to play.

John was married for 30 years and has two daughters, ages 30 and 26.

His advice to clients is to plan an exit strategy early and revisit it often. Waiting too long can limit your options and make it harder to achieve the outcome you want. John also recommends putting planning documents through a “fire drill” to see how they would work in practice. What you expect to happen and what actually happens can be very different, so it helps to work through those details ahead of time.

CEO Ted shares, “John is someone who understands the value of preparation and teamwork. He takes the time to think through the details and brings that same care to his work with clients and colleagues. We’ve enjoyed having him on the team since 2010, and we’re pleased to recognize him as our Employee of the Quarter.”
